The Ramanuja statue, also known as the Statue of Equality, is a statue of the 11th-century vaishnavite Ramanuja. "Who championed the principle of equality in all aspects of living, including faith, caste, and creed," according to the saint.
This is situated on the premises of the Chinna Jeeyar Trust in Muchintal, Ranga Reddy district, on the outskirts of Hyderabad on the Bangalore highway. https://statueofequality.org
This location was visited by me on December 20, 2022. (Tuesday). Vivaan, my grandson, accompanied me. On arrival we received a free brochure containing layout helped a lot.
The inner sanctorum deity of Sri Ramanujacharya is composed of 120 kg of gold to honour the saint's 120 years on this planet.
The outdoor 216-foot Statue of Equality, the world's second tallest in a sitting posture, is made of 'panchaloha,' a five-metal alloy of gold, silver, copper, brass, and zinc........
........I observed that every visitor, regardless of age, was able to understand and value the notion being promoted—that of equality. I've seen that visitors are making special visits to this area. What I have observed is that at first, visitors like me are primarily tourists. However, while there, they ponder the idea of equality and grow curious. Nobody ever fully realises Swamiji's vision the first time. However, when visitors leave and return, they make an effort to reflect. Ramanuja has had some influence on contemporary thinking. This was proved by my grandchild, who voluntarily scribbled his impressions when the yatra was over........
.......The statue of equality serves as a poignant reminder of Ramanujacharya's teachings that everyone is created equal in the eyes of God.
