The present generation knows Mr. Yandamoori Veerendranath as a Personality Development guru, counsellor and columnist with his more popular writings in The Hindu -National English Daily on Mondays. This kind of listeners or readers surely need some elaboration on the niche Mr Yandamoori has created for himself in fiction literature and the craze generated by his 50+ novels in the yester years. For the not-so-young, it is needless to recall the fascination witnessed in the market when his novels or the weeklies carrying his serials hit the stands. After penning several novels and directing films based on his own works, this `fiction mater' has switched over to render personality development lectures, write books on tips to success mostly intended for the youth.
Today, Rotary International District 3150 [comprising 83 Rotary Clubs in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India] organized a Seminar on Leadership. Mr. Yandamoori Veerendranath was invited to present post lunch session on "Stress Management". This lively one-and-a-half hour session covered various aspects of stress in life and tips to manage the situations. A handout distributed containing 6 points was an added bonus to the participants. He explained the purpose of life and stress, How stress occurs, Types of worry, Stress due to anger or inferiority complex, Emotions due to stress. We finally drove home the point that one could get rid of stress by managing the moods. Visit his website http://www.yandamoori.com to know more about him and you can also download free resources.
I first time met Mr. Yandamoori Veerendranath, Chartered Accountant when both of us were working in Andhra Bank in 1984. I was working in its branch in Gannavaram, where Airport of Vijayawada is located. I used stay with my parents in Vijayawada and daily commute by state owned bus for 40 km. Mr Yandamoori, Audit officer in Andhra Bank at that time was deputed to inspect our Bank branch. He stayed in a Hotel in Vijayawada and was kind to accommodate me in his car to & fro Gannavaram daily for about two weeks. I gathered lot of knowledge during our discussions. I fondly remember his saying "Speech is silver, silence is gold" said a philosopher. But talking right with a right purpose is platinum."
It was a jubiliant moment for me today to meet and listen to him again during the Rotary Seminar. I thank my fellow Rotarian Anil who clicked a photo [ Mr. Yandamoori in gold colour shirt] added in this blog.

Hi Suryanarayana garu,
ReplyDeleteI read many novels of Mr.Yandamuri, which were very good. Especially, the novel ' Vennello Aadapilla' I like more. I could not get opportunity to read his novel, 'Vijayaniki 5 metlu (5 steps to Success)' No doubt, he is an extraordinary writer. So far I didn't know that he is a CA.
